Why Grain-Free?

A grain-free diet helps sensitive digestion

Although most dogs can digest grains without any problems, there are still some that struggle and are prone to digestive problems such as constipation. All our products are of highest quality and specially formulated using the right balance of key nutrients – just without the grains.

Choose high-quality ingredients

Dogs can suffer from food allergies. Although it’s relatively rare for dogs to become intolerant or allergic to grains, when this does happen it can be a difficult time for both pets and owners – that’s why we eliminate the chances all together.

Grain-based ingredients such as wheat, maize, and soya are frequently used as fillers in commercial dog food. While these fillers may create a sense of fullness, they often have low nutritional value and can be difficult to digest. Choose a high-quality, grain-free meal like ESSENTIALS, and you're likely to notice positive changes in your dog's overall well-being.

Behavioral Optimizing Foods (BOF)

What is Behavioral Optimizing Foods (BOF)?

A significant part of the idea behind the ESSENTIALS meals, is to keep your dog's blood sugar stable. In the same way that it applies to people, it applies to dogs (even more so) that when the blood sugar is running low or high, significant fluctuations both mentally and physically takes place.

All of our meals are composed in order to avoid these fluctuations; creating a new standard of foods - for your dog. The principle we have developed is BOF (Behavioural Optimizing Foods) and has been extremely well received.

BOF – A sensation within pet foods

Behavioral Optimizing Foods (BOF) is the principle honoring the many advantages, of keeping the blood sugar levels stable throughout the day. At ESSENTIAL FOODS we have achieved just that with our life-changing and award winning foods. BOF ensures the stability of your dog’s sugar levels.

Our high fresh meat content and the low preparation temperature means your dog gets exceptional nutritional values vs. mass-branded pet foods. The results with BOF are breathtaking. Serving ESSENTIALS positively will affect the mental balance of your dog. Some report seeing a dramatic transformation in the behavior, others note a smaller change, however improvement is always recorded.

Illustration shows blood sugar development with BOF based meals vs. other brands' premium pet food. Download or read the scientific article 'White Paper on the BOF Principle' by Dr. Med. Vet. Timurhan Tastutar here.

OUR SECRET

Did you know …
… that every Our finest ETERNAL LIVING begins its journey in the British countryside, on the local farms where our British free-range eggs come from?

At ESSENTIALS, every meal begins with an uncompromising selection of ingredients. For Our finest ETERNAL LIVING, we have chosen eggs from British free-range hens as the animal protein source – a naturally nutritious, human-grade quality ingredient from the very same food supply chain as ingredients intended for human consumption.

Whole eggs
Whole eggs

There is something beautifully simple about an egg. A naturally nutritious ingredient, chosen for what it brings to every meal.

And we at ESSENTIALS have chosen eggs for a reason. Eggs are a highly digestible source of protein with a high biological value. They contain all the essential amino acids needed and provide important building blocks for strong muscles and a healthy, active body.

Rather than filling the meal with cheap animal by-products, we have chosen an ingredient that naturally provides high-quality protein: eggs.

Because when the same high quality is served every single day, year after year, we believe every single ingredient matters.

Better ingredients. Better choices. For a lifetime of extraordinary meals.

Slow-cooked at 82°C

In our British kitchen, the fresh ingredients are slow-cooked gently at a maximum of 82°C. This gentle temperature helps preserve the valuable proteins, natural nutrients and flavour of the ingredients.

Instead of meat, we have chosen human-grade quality eggs from free-range hens as the animal protein source. Eggs are naturally rich in high-quality protein and contain all the essential amino acids your dog needs – important building blocks for strong muscles and a healthy, active body.

No cheap animal by-products. No meat fillers. Just an exceptional source of protein, chosen with purpose.

Quality controlled every step of the way

From the very beginning, our ingredients undergo extensive quality control, including testing for Salmonella. Throughout production, samples are continuously taken from both the raw ingredients and the finished kibble.

When it comes to avian influenza, prevention begins even earlier. Through carefully selected suppliers, thorough risk assessments and validated thermal processing, we have robust safeguards in place to ensure the safety of every finished meal.

This is how we ensure that every meal meets ESSENTIALS’ uncompromising standards for food safety, quality and traceability.

FreshGravy. A fresh difference

Only once the kibble is complete do we add our signature FreshGravy – the final touch that makes every meal unmistakably ESSENTIALS.

Our FreshGravy is a carefully prepared blend of sunflower oil and dried plant ingredients, bringing together the fresh ingredients in a final, flavourful coating. It enhances the natural, savoury flavour and exceptional aroma of every kibble. Freshly prepared in our kitchen, it brings even greater freshness and provenance to this important final step.

But FreshGravy is about more than irresistible taste. It also adds valuable nutrients and helps protect the kibble from oxidation, preserving its quality throughout storage.

And while palatability is traditionally assessed through animal feeding trials, we have chosen a different path. We do not test our meals on animals to determine which flavour they find most appealing. We believe that when the ingredients are exceptional, the flavour should come from the ingredients themselves.
*Real ingredients. Real flavour. No animal testing.
